Colonial Freight Lines are actively involved with the Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme, which enhances all aspects of vehicle maintenance and Driver Fatigue to ensure responsibility and safety for all road users.

Our Driver Fatigue Management Policy complies with all guidelines of Transport W.A. and Work Safe W.A. which we continuously monitor closely to eliminate the incidence of driver fatigue.
​
With our staff and drivers we have extensive experience in many facets of road transport including, refrigerated services, general and express freight movement, over-sized loads, along with single and multiple combinations to suit a wide range of customers needs.

We can help you with the supply of drivers and equipment to service scheduled or permanent requirements or a single specialty trip or, to cover you whilst your own equipment may be unavailable.

​Our fleet of prime movers and trailing equipment are serviced regularly with preventative maintenance being of primary concern. All vehicles are equipped for the carriage of dangerous goods with the Department of Minerals and Energy requirements adhered to along with Main Roads W.A. rules and regulations.
​
All our vehicles have comprehensive tools to monitor, track, communicate and review our fleet. These tools which include advanced GPS tracking, proactive alerting, history replay, waypoint management, proactive fatigue management, speed management, and fit-for-duty declarations help us improve compliance, increase efficiency and promote safety.

HIRE
We have an extensive range of equipment available for hire either once off, short term or long term.

Our equipment hire service includes trailers from refrigerated dual zone vans to simple flat-top trailers, A trailers, dry and open, or dollies.

All equipment is fully maintained and serviced by our own workshop under our Fleet Management System.

GALLERY
HISTORY
Colonial Freight Lines is a Western Australian owned and operated business which commenced trading in August 1988. Starting with one truck and setting up a yard at the back of the parents house the requirement to increase to a second truck and a driver was needed. Providing a service that we would expect from others and fulfilling a need to the logistics market we started to grow and expand the fleet. Finally we we had too many vehicles and employee's, the yard had to move! In late 2004 the business acquired a block in Maddington, and in 2005 the new depot was finished which contained the space and facilities we needed including a mechanical workshop where we could service our own vehicles. In 2016 we were battling for space again, with the workshop, and the growth of our metro distribution work combined with line-haul work we needed more room again. A property just down the road became available which could give us the extra space we needed and was also suitable for our our metro distribution services. With some tweaking and refurbishments and the installation of loading docks this has now become our Distribution Depot.

We are managed and operated by a group of dedicated and professional team members, many who have been with our company since its beginnings.
​
Our approach to business is open and honest. We have a history of aligning ourselves with organisations, understanding their business and working with them to reduce their distribution costs. Our history is one of partnering success.
